InSite Building
GETEC PARK.EMMEN has re-purposed a former training building to create a shared complex for innovative entrepreneurs; the inSite building. Innofil3D, a leading producer of high-grade filaments for 3D printers, was the first company to take up residence in this new concept. This company is owned by BASF. Green PAC\'s iLab has now also moved to the inSite building. The iLab (innovative laboratory) offers start-ups technical support and business expertise and services.

Steamexpander
GETEC PARK.EMMEN has developed the SteamExpander in collaboration with Innecs. This is an extremely compact, intrinsically safe steam turbine. The lack of a speed reduction mechanism and use of a state-of-the-art synchronous generator ensure high efficiency. Older designs waste energy by using a reducer to produce low-pressure steam from high-pressure steam. Customers with a SteamExpander achieve the same result, but now also generate electricity as a bonus. This electricity can be fed directly back into the grid or used to satisfy the customer’s own power needs. This results in greater efficiency and a more favourable CO2 footprint. The SteamExpander is available up to 250 kW, depending on the pressure drop and amount of steam for which pressure reduction is required.

Element scan of the Amsterdam ArenA seats
During the run-up to the 2020 European Championships, Amsterdam ArenA intends to replace all of the stadium seats in a socially responsible manner. So Amsterdam ArenA has set up a project together with Better Future Factory and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences to determine the best way of recycling the seats. These parties asked GETEC PARK.EMMEN to perform an element scan. The objective was to identify the materials used for the seats and the feasibility of creating something new from those materials. The scan revealed that the polypropylene backrest and seat bucket were ideal for use in digital production equipment, such as 3D printers. Students of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences are now going to use a 3D printer to produce new products from the polypropylene parts. A number of the seats will be sold to Ajax fans and the remainder will be recycled by a waste processor to produce new raw materials.
