Laboratories
The laboratory at GETEC PARK.EMMEN provides independent information by performing advanced analyses. The laboratory delivers analytic data and unique knowledge in the field of polymers, monomers and chemicals within two hours, and that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We do that based on a wide range of up-to-date analyses equipment, the decades of experience of the analysts and scientific insights. We provide essential information to polymer and packaging producers, recyclers, and brand owners for the purposes of:
- Monitoring the quality of polymer products in relation to production conditions.
- Reducing and managing risks related to product safety.
- Drawing up accurate TDS and MSDS.
- Accelerating and providing additional insights in new process and product developments.
- Checking compliance with regulations concerning the environment, food, process, and products safety.
Based on the data and insights, GETEC PARK.EMMEN contributes to efficient production, optimum product safety and quality assurance and the acceleration of new product or process developments. The aim is to further increase the business continuity and distinctiveness of our customers.
Measurements and tests
In addition, the GETEC PARK.EMMEN laboratory carries out measurements and tests to check health, water and air. We are also specialized in measurements after asbestos removal. This ensures that your product, process or (working) environment satisfies all the relevant quality requirements.
The majority of our test procedures are accredited according to the ISO 17025 standard. These test procedures comply with all international requirements for testing and calibration laboratories.

Plastics and Polymers
GETEC PARK.EMMEN specialises in plastic analyses and (bio-based) polymer analyses. We test and analyse (intermediate) products to allow you to manage your process optimally. A wide range of chemical and physical tests, such as viscometry, optical control and element analysis, allow us to achieve this. We use state-of-the-art and highly innovative equipment for these tasks. As a result, you benefit from an excellent end-product and consistent quality.
Analyses and equipment
GETEC PARK.EMMEN develops and carries out (polymer) analyses and tests using the most innovative equipment available and a variety of techniques. We are the only company in the world to offer this capability!
We determine the viscosity of polymers and fluids based on:
• Intrinsic viscosity (IV)
• Polymer solution viscosity (relative viscosity)
• Melt viscosity (MVR/MFR)
• Brookfield viscosity
We optically inspect and measure the polymer granules for semi-finished products and end-products using the following equipment:
• Film Surface Analyser (FSA100)
• Pellet Scan Inspection (PS25C)
• Pellet Size & Shape Distribution (PSSD)
• Particles in Solution (Partisol)
We use the following spectrometry techniques for materials testing:
• UV/VIS
• X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF)
• Datacolor
• Fourier-transform infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR)
• Inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP)
• Scanning electron microscope + Energy Dispersed Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS).
The other techniques that we use are:
• Density (He pycnometer)
• Density (DMA)
• Water content (manometric and KF method)
• Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
• GC/IC/HPLC/GCMS
• Static Headspace
• Titrimetry
Working conditions legislation and environmental tests
Does your company comply with working conditions legislation and environmental requirements? GETEC PARK.EMMEN can assess this for you. We carry out various tests related to working conditions, such as noise measurements, stationary measurement and personal (PAS) measurements. Both in our laboratory and at your site. We also measure emissions from your company. This objective information allows you to determine whether your company (still) complies with the environmental standards.
Asbestos-free declaration and measurements
Do you want to inspect a building to determine the presence of asbestos? If so, GETEC PARK.EMMEN services can help. We identify asbestos through microscopic analysis. This technique shows whether or not asbestos is present. In addition, our mobile laboratories test air samples and perform visual asbestos inspections throughout the northern part of the Netherlands, both during or after remediation work. This immediately establishes whether the building is safe and fit for occupancy, indicates the quality of the remediation work that has been carried out and compliance/non-compliance with conditions for declaring a building asbestos-free according to the NEN 2990 and ISO 17020 standards.
